Social Networking

This post was going to be a review of Seesmic, a social networking service, but it morphed (evolved?) into a rant about social networking in general. I used to regard social networking as somewhat silly.I still think it is, but it's grown on me. It's an *acceptable* silly. The whole status idea is somewhat revolutionary, and, in my opinion, brilliant. It's funny sometimes, interesting others, and informative others. I dislike the "apps" function of Facebook, because more often than not, the apps are games. I have nothing against social games, or casual games, but Facebook games try to do both, and badly. Flash games sites like Kongregate do it better. Then there's the online petitions, but I really think that Change.org does that better. And the quizzes... *bleh*
Now, my favorite social network is Twitter. It's simple and status-centric, which is what I like. And that's what I do primarily, read status updates. So, I'm joining Twitter (@thisisnerda.)

Gbye all!
